Embracing Our Calling
In Luke 8, we meet a group of women who didn’t just sit on the sidelines of Jesus’ ministry—they helped carry it. Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna weren’t passive believers; they were active participants. They walked with Jesus. They supported Him. They gave from their own resources to help sustain a movement that would change the world.
When I read that, I see myself. I see women like me—called, committed, and contributing—despite the cultural limitations that tried to silence them. These women didn’t wait for permission. They showed up with purpose, power, and provision. And that’s the same spirit I carry into my work through Pentad Weddings by JeRai.
The Heart of Wedding Officiating
My role in weddings is more than logistics and timelines. It's ministry. It’s sacred. When I stand before couples, I’m not just officiating a ceremony—I’m planting seeds of covenant, trust, and legacy. I’m affirming love in its most divine form. I’m helping two people make a spiritual commitment before God and their community, often in moments that are filled with laughter, tears, and transformation.
Like the women in Luke 8, I bring more than my presence. I bring my faith. I bring my experience. I bring my resources. And I bring my heart. What I do is rooted in devotion and built on the belief that love is holy ground. That every vow spoken is a declaration of hope. That every union is a moment to reflect God’s love in the world.
The Unseen Work of Women in Weddings
And let me be clear—this is ministry. Women in ministry don’t always wear robes or stand behind pulpits. Sometimes, we wear dresses, carry clipboards, and whisper prayers over brides in dressing rooms. Sometimes, we hold space for grooms who are nervous. Sometimes, we coach couples through conflict before they say “I do.” And sometimes, we dance at the reception, knowing we've poured ourselves into making their love day unforgettable.
The women in Luke 8 remind us that God has always made room for women to lead, to serve, and to uplift sacred work. Whether we’re preaching, planning, or praying—our impact is real. And our ministry is valid.
The Legacy of Love
So to every woman called to love, to lead, and to build—keep going. You are the legacy of Susanna, Joanna, and Mary Magdalene. And like them, you are seen, necessary, and chosen.
The Power of Community
In our journey together, we find strength in community. We uplift one another, sharing stories and experiences. We celebrate each other's victories and support each other through challenges. This bond is powerful. It reminds us that we are not alone in our mission.
Crafting Meaningful Ceremonies
Every wedding I officiate is unique. Each couple brings their own story, their own dreams, and their own vision for their special day. I strive to honor that individuality. By weaving personal touches into the ceremony, I create a space where love can flourish.
The Role of Rituals
Rituals play a significant role in weddings. They ground us and connect us to something greater. Whether it's lighting a unity candle or sharing a first dance, these moments are sacred. They remind us of the promises we make and the love we share.
A Call to Action
As we navigate this journey of love and commitment, I encourage you to embrace your role. Whether you are a bride, a groom, or a supporter, your presence matters. You contribute to the tapestry of love that surrounds us.
The Future of Love
Looking ahead, I am excited about the future of love. I believe in the power of love to transform lives and communities. As we continue to celebrate love in all its forms, let us remember the legacy of those who came before us.
With love and purpose,
